Kanji Buddy is a Japanese Kanji learning app for IOS and Android, developed with React Native.
The app was created in an attempt to fix some of the frustrations I had encountered in my own Japanese studies.
The Design
The brand was centred around simplicity, using a gentle type face and rounded shapes to contrast with the visual complexity of the kanji.
The final logo incorporates the very recognisably Japanese motif of the rising sun.
The App
The app was created using React Native and Expo, for Android and IOS devices.
